Welcome to Kindergarten!

Parents/guardians of kindergarten-age students will enroll their child in the regular full-day kindergarten program or have the option to enroll in the Two-Way Spanish Dual Language program: a two-way language immersion where students are taught literacy and curriculum in both Spanish and English beginning in kindergarten and continuing through the completion of fifth grade. Learn more about the Two-Way Spanish Dual Language Program and how to enroll. (Don't delay! The deadline to apply for the Dual Language program is March 15, 2026!)

In addition, a one-way Spanish Dual Language program is offered to students who are native Spanish speakers and qualify for language support services. Eligibility is determined via an English proficiency screening.

Students are fully educated according to CCSD15’s traditional core curriculum and programming, preparing children for first grade and beyond. Our Full-Day Kindergarten program provides more time for math and literacy instruction, more time for free and purposeful play, and more time to build self-esteem, independence, friendships, and trusting relationships with teachers.

Parent Handbook

The annual handbook is a summary of Board of Education policies governing District 15. It also offers information pertinent to the District as a whole, and is intended to be a handy resource, but is not meant to take the place of personal communication between home and school. Please feel free to call your child’s school if you have any questions on programs or procedures, or consult your school’s website.
